LAHORE, Dec 29: Former Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) president and former Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF) secretary Aamir Hayat Khan Rokhri died of heart attack in the small hours of Thursday.

After feeling pain in the chest Rokhri drove his car himself to go to a near hospital where he could not survive. His body has been taken to his native city of Mianwali for burial.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), Pakistan Olympic Association (POA), LCCA and PBF officials have expressed condolence over the sad demise of Rokhri.

When the PCB was not financially strong, Rokhri as LCCA president made financial contribution to run the organisation for three decades (from 1970 to 1990).

He was defeated in LCCA elections in 2010, while the legal fight in 2009 between two warring groups of the PBF deprived him of the post of secretary.

Besides a member of the Punjab Assembly from Mianwali, he was also a member of the first governing board of the PCB.
