MIRPURKHAS, Dec 29: Kidnappers have demanded a ransom of Rs10 million for releasing a city lawyer.Advocate Mohan Lal was kidnapped a few days ago when he was going to Hyderabad. His car was found abandoned near Tandojam.

Sources said the kidnappers called a senior lawyer Ladharam Sharma and demanded the ransom.

District Bar Association's president Salahuddin Panhwar and other office-bearers approached police and the DIG Hyderabad Sanaullah Abbasi held a meeting on Wednesday night.

The lawyers' association has been boycotting court proceedings for a week and taking out processions but police still unable to determine the place from where Advocate Mohan Lal was kidnapped.

Lela Ram, younger brother of the kidnapped lawyer lodged a kidnapping for ransom case with the Tandojam police station.

At a general body meeting of the association held on Thursday, lawyers demanded immediate arrest of the kidnappers and safe recovery Mohan Lal.
