Schedule of tri-series released

LAHORE, Nov 23: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) saturday announced the schedule of the six match hockey league series being played from Dec 20-27 at Lahore and Faisalabad.

PHF has introduced the event to initiate preparations for participation of its team in 2004 Athens Olympic and to determine a pool of talented players.

Secretary Punjab Hockey Association (PHA) Rao Salim Nazim as has been named as the overall coordinator at both centres.

Following is the programme of the league. (Lahore)

Dec 20— Junior vs White

Dec 21— Green vs Juniors

Dec 22— Green vs Whites

(Local organiser) Muhammad Hussain, (Tournament director) Asad Malik, (tournament officers) Qazi Masood ur Rauf, Iftikhar Chaudhary, (umpires manager) Khurshid Azam. (Faisalabad)

Dec 25— Whites vs Juniors

Dec 26— Green vs Juniors

Dec 27— Green vs Whites

(Local organiser) Rana Mujahid Ali, (tournament director) Farrukh Mir, (tournament officers) Muhammad Aslam Roda, Zahid Tauqeer, (umpires manager) Khizar Nawaz Bajwa.

A four member umpires panel Rashad Mahmood Butt, Faiz Muhammad Faizi,Iftikhar Ahmad and Khalid Iqbal will supervise matches at both the centres.—APP
