LAHORE, Nov 23: Punjab government’s rules of business regarding transfer of power of the chief executive from the governor to chief minister have not as yet been amended.

Sources said on Saturday the power was transferred to the provincial governor after the military takeover of Oct 12, 1999, through an order by the chief executive.

Now, the matter has been referred to the federal government for advice on the method of transferring the power to chief minister before his induction into office, they said.

Top government officials and the governor have already announced the transfer of full authority of the chief executive to chief minister.
