QUETTA, Nov 21: Balochistan Governor Amirul Mengal has convened the first session of the provincial assembly on Nov 28.

This was officially announced through a notification issued here on Thursday night.

Secretary of the assembly, Mohammad Khan Mengal, said that in the first session only the newly-elected members would take oath of their office while a decision on the election of speaker and deputy speaker would be taken by the presiding officer of the House.

After the election of Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali of Balochistan as prime minister, the components of PONAM with the help of other parties having representation in the provincial assembly are trying to form their own coalition government without the help of the PML-Q.

However, Jam Mohammad Yousaf, provincial parliamentary party leader of the PML-Q, claims that he has succeeded to muster the required support to form a coalition government in the province.
