KARACHI, Dec 8: Umrao Tariq, a renowned literary figure and joint secretary of the Anjuman Taraqqi-i-Urdu, passed away here on Thursday. He was 72.

He was the author of several books, including Badan Ka Tawaf that won him Adamjee Literary Award. He is survived by three sons and three daughters.

His funeral prayers will be offered at Jama Masjid Aqsa in Gulshan-i-Iqbal block 13-D/2 and the burial will take place in the Yasinabad graveyard, Federal B. Area.—Staff Reporter
