ISLAMABAD, Dec 2: Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) shifted 18 stolen vehicles to the capital from different districts where these were recovered and impounded by the police during last month.
A spokesman for the capital police said on Friday that these vehicles were kept in many police stations of the country as the police recovered them from car lifters.
The ACLC shifted 18 vehicles while process to bring back 12 other vehicles was under way.
Separate ACLC teams visited different cities including Rawalpindi, Lahore, Chakwal, Attock and Peshawar to check stolen vehicles kept in police stations. During inspection of record, 30 vehicles were found stolen from Islamabad.
Meanwhile, the ACLC arrested four alleged auto-thieves and recovered fake registration books, files of vehicles, jammers and weapons from them.
During investigation, the outlaws confessed to stealing vehicles from different parts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The investigators are trying to trace and recover vehicles which they stole and transported outside the cities.—Staff Reporter
