In-form Tiwana on goal rampage

LAHORE, Nov 19: Three more matches were decided in the Chrysanthemum Cup Polo Tournament at the Lahore Polo Club grounds Tuesday.

All five goals by Atif Yar Tiwana enabled Travel Quest to beat Mega Infra 5-4 in the most thrilling match of the day.

From the losing side, Usman Hayee scored all four goals.

Travel Quest ended the first chukker with 2-1 lead after conceding an early goal.

They maintained the lead 3-2  as both teams scored a goal apiece in the second chukker.

Mega restored the parity for the first time in the third chukker 3-3 by scoring the solitary goal of the chukker.

 The score  at the end of fourth chukker was 4-all leaving the result to the extra fifth chukker played with widened goalposts.

Atif showed his supremacy converting a 60 yard penalty hit to score the decisive goal.

In another keenly contested match, Travel Quest Blues scored a 5 1/2-4 win against Gladiators.

The winners who had half a goal on handicap, were well served by Irfan Ali Hyder who scored four goals. The remaining goal was netted by Feroz Gulzar.

For the losers, Hussain Iftikhar contributed two goals. Kamran Nooruddin and Saeed Aslam slammed a goal each.

Four goals by Ahmad Ali Tiwana steered Shahpur to a 6-4 1/2 win over Bread and Butter. Azam Hayat Noon and Irfan Sheikh slammed one goal each.

For the losing side, which had the advantage of half goal on handicap, Hissam Ali Hyder scored three goals while Faryal Laghari banged home a goal.
