LAHORE, Nov 20: A 52-year-old junk dealer was found murdered at home at Gondal Chowk in Baba Fareed Colony of Kot Lakhpat on Sunday.

Kot Lakhpat police said Abdul Razzaq, a father of two, was apparently attacked by unidentified intruders who used a blunt weapon.

The body was shifted for autopsy.

Police investigations showed that Razzaq was alone at home at the time of the incident as he had dropped his children at their maternal aunt's home a day earlier. His wife had died some time ago.

Police said the motive for the killing was still unclear. Police have registered a case on the complaint of victim's brother Mushtaq.

Green Town police said 60-year-old Irshaad Begum died after she was pushed allegedly by two people during a brawl near Bhola Chowk in Sector C-II on Sunday.

Green Town SHO Masood Baig said the elderly woman apparently died of heart attack after she came to know that her son Ghulam Chishti quarrelled with Abid Shah and his son Bablu over some monetary issue.

He said several shopkeepers witnessed how the woman fell on the ground.

He, however, said a murder case had been registered against Abid and Bablu on the complaint of Ghulam Chishti who said the suspects pushed his mother to the ground when she tried to stop them from quarrel.

Police shifted the body for autopsy to ascertain exact cause of death.
