SUKKUR, Nov 15: A raid commissioner freed a man from illegal police detention on Tuesday.

Faqir Mohammad Katohar, was recovered by the Raid Commissioner Azizullah Jamali from the Karim Bux police station near Thull in Jacobabad district.

An application was submitted by Mohammad Shaban Katohar to District and Sessions Judge of Jacobabad stating that police picked up his cousin Faqir Mohammad Katohar three days ago and had kept him in the lock-up without any charges.

Judge Abdul Waheed appointed Azizullah Jamali as raid commissioner who recovered the man from police custody. He could not find the entry of the arrested man hence freed him, sealed the record and directed the SHO Manzoor Mahar to appear before the court on Wednesday along with the record.—BoC
