Family feud claims three lives

SAHIWAL, Nov 17: Three family members lost their lives on Sunday over a property issue in a nearby Chak 189/9-L.

Nisar Ahmed had contracted love marriage with Robina. Her parents got registered a kidnap case against Nisar. Later, a local court also declared him a proclaimed offender. On Sunday, Nisar came to his parents’ and asked his father Sultan Ahmed to give him the property share. On refusal, Nisar lost his temper and shot dead his father. In anguish his younger brother Bodi fired at him and his wife, killing the couple on the spot.

Dera Rahim police have registered a case against the absconding killer.

FOUR DIE: Four people died of meningitis in the district during the last 24 hours.

Sabran, 40, wife of shopkeeper Abdul Karim of Grain Market; Abida, wife of grower Muhammad Hanif of Chak No 179/9-L; Mariam, 45, of Kot Allah Din and Muhammad Khalid, 22, of Arifwala were brought to the DHQ Hospital with the complaint of high fever where they died.

SUICIDES: A teenage girl and her cousin committed suicide on Sunday when their parents refused to join them in marriage.

Gulzar Ahmad was engaged with his cousin. Their parents developed some differences and refused to join them in marriage.

The girl took poison and died in a hospital. When the news reached Gulzar, he took poison. He too died in the hospital.

Police sent the bodies for autopsy.
