LAHORE, Nov 14: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry took on Monday suo motu notice of the murder of four people in Rawalpindi courts on Saturday and summoned the inspector general of Punjab police on Nov 18.

Four people had gunned down their three rivals on the Rawalpindi courts premises. Their indiscriminate firing also claimed the life of a passerby. Civil Lines police arrested three people while the fourth escaped from the scene.

The chief justice also directed LHC human rights and vigilance cell director general Kazim Ali Malik to hold an inquiry into the incident focusing on the mode and manner of the unfortunate incident and the personnel who failed to discharge their obligation qua security of the under trial prisoners.

The judge has invited proposals in order to avoid such incidences in the future and action on judicial or administrative side against those who contributed towards this incident directly or indirectly, negligently or deliberately.
