PML-Q holds talks with MMA, PAT

ISLAMABAD, Nov 17: Leaders of the PML-Q Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi held a meeting with leaders of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Qazi Hussain Ahmed here on Sunday.

During the meeting which continued for one and a half hour, the two sides held negotiations on Legal Framework Order, government formation and elections of speaker, deputy speaker and prime minister.

Talking to newsmen, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the talks were continuing on constitutional matters and some headway had been made in this respect.

PAT: Parliamentary leader of Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-i-Azam), Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, and its nominee for the slot of prime minister, Mir Zafarullah Jamali, discussed the political situation and formation of government with chief of Pakistan Awami Tehrik, Maulana Tahirul Qaderi, at his residence on Sunday.

Maulana Qaderi explained the point of view of his party and briefed them about his negotiations with other parties.

Chaudhry Shujaat told Maulana Qaderi that the PML-Q had been working to establish a government of national consensus so that the process of democracy could be strengthened with the supremacy of parliament and revival of 1973 Constitution.

They also discussed the election of speaker and deputy speaker of the assembly being held on Tuesday.—APP
