ISLAMABAD, Nov 11: At least four persons were injured in separate armed attacks by their rivals in capital on Friday, police said.

Two persons were injured when their rivals opened fire at them in Bhara Kahu. The police said the victims and the attackers were close relatives and associated with different transporters' groups.

They have been running enmity over the turn of their vehicles plying on route No 110 for the last couple of months.

On Friday, two members of rival Raja Nasir and Itafaq groups again got into physical fight. However, they were separated by their fellow transporters. In the evening, Aman Abbasi came to the terminal in a car along with two persons and opened fire at Shahid Abbasi and Aqil Abbasi. As a result, both of them suffered multiple bullet injuries.

Hearing the gunshots the fellow transporters rushed to rescue them and tried to overpower the attackers, but they managed to escape.

Later, the injured were shifted to hospital where they were stated to be stable. In another incident, two persons, including a scavenger, were injured when a group started firing at its rival in I-8/4.

The police said the attackers, Amanullah, Mehboob, Jibran, and Shahzaib, had developed some dispute with Chaudhry Ahsan Farooq and had had a physical fight before Eid.

On Friday, the four persons intercepted Farooq in I-8/4 market and after a scuffle started firing at him. As a result he suffered bullet injuries. Besides, a scavenger, passing by, was also hit by bullets and suffered injuries.

Both the injured were shifted to hospital where they were given medical assistance.
