LAHORE, Nov 10: Deputy Inspector General of Police Operation Ghulam Mahmood Dogar on Thursday suspended five station house officers from service on multiple charges. He also transferred eight other SHOs.

The punishments were awarded in the light of inquiries held by senior police officers.

Burki SHO Muhammad Azam has been suspended from service for his involvement in land-grabbing and Inspector Muhammad Attique Dogar from Police Lines has been appointed in his place.

Green Town SHO Sheikh Aamir Saleem has been suspended for not entertaining complainants and Masood Baig from lines has been posted in his place.

Sabzazar additional SI Muhammad Raza has been suspended for failing to control kite flying, which led to the killing of a 25-year-old man on Wednesday last, and Inspector Muhammad Anwar Sheikh from lines has been posted in his place.

Johar Town SHO Ahsaan Ashraf Butt has been suspended for misbehaving with complainants and abuse of authority and SI Farooq Asghar Awan from lines has been posted in his place.

Old Anarkali SHO Javed Iqbal has been suspended for dereliction of duty and misconduct and SI Muhammad Shahid from lines has been appointed in his place.

Meanwhile, the DIG has transferred Nishtar Colony SHO Muhammad Akmal and posted him Yakki Gate SHO vice MR Javaid who has been directed to report to the lines. Inspector Muhammad Sharif from lines has been posted Nishtar Colony SHO.

Islampura SHO Muhammad Amin has been transferred and directed to report to the lines and SI Ibrar Haider from lines has been posted in his place.

Rang Mahal SHO Muhammad Iqbal has been transferred and directed to report to the lines and SI Muhammad Asim Rafi has been appointed in Iqbal's place.

SI Muhammad Ramzan Ahmad from lines has been posted Nawab Town SHO vice Inspector Tahir Mahmood who was suspended from service by the DIG two days ago on public complaints.
