Pakistan Juniors to compete in Manila

KARACHI, Nov 16: A four-member Pakistan under-18 squad will take part in the Asia Pacific Junior Masters Golf Championship being held in Manila (Philippines) from Dec 10 to 13, a spokesman of Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) said Saturday.

Pakistan squad includes Karachi’s talented golfer Omair Javed, teenagers Danial Jahangir and Mustufa Rafi Khan and Hamzah Taimur from Islamabad, son of Pakistan’s leading golfer Taimur Hasan.

Lt. Col (Retd) Jamil Khalid will accompany the team as Manager.

A two-member Pakistan official team comprising Shahid Javed and Tariq Mahmood will participate in Bangladesh Amateur Golf Champion-ship being staged at Kurmitola Golf club Dhaka from Dec 11 to 14.

Lt Col Zulfiqar Pervez will be manager of the team. Golfers from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nepal and host Bangladesh will be appearing in the event played over 72 holes.

He said beside Pakistan team, Haroon Kahlon, Sohail K.Rana, Ahmed Abdul Bariand Ejaz Hashmi have sent their entries for the Dhaka event.—APP
