QUETTA, Nov 2: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Raisani directed law-enforcement agencies on Wednesday to set up a monitoring system at all entry points of Zhob division which borders Waziristan and Tank.

Presiding over a meeting on law and order in the border town of Zhob here on Wednesday, he ordered security agencies to keep an eye on the movement of suspected elements, including foreigners.

“Security agencies should strictly check documents of foreigners entering Balochistan from border areas of Zhob and Barkhan districts,” Mr Raisani said, adding that no foreigner should be allowed to travel without valid documents in Balochistan.

He said that foreigners having legal travelling documents should be given full protection during their visit to the province.

Referring to money laundering issue, the chief minister asked authorities concerned to take action against elements involved in money laundering to stop transfer of money to anti-social elements.

He also directed officials concerned to take measures to discourage poppy cultivation in Balochistan.

He asked all deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners and tehsildars to stay in their districts during Eid holidays to maintain law and order.

Nawab Aslam Raisani said his government wanted to make Balochistan a peaceful province and was taking all steps for the purpose.

“The government will strictly deal with elements involved in creating law and order situation in the province.”

Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani directed the home secretary to inform the centre about the province’s financial needs, adding that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani had recently announced providing two billion rupees to improve the law and order situation in Quetta and other parts of the province during a cabinet meeting held here.
