No, you won’t…
This is with reference to the article No, you won't… by Mariha Khan (October 1, 2011). I agree with the writer’s point of view that if you keep on agreeing with what others say or suggest, you will be at a loss. After reading this article, I realised that I have also this shortcoming of not being able to say ‘No’ to many things I don’t like. But this article gave me the courage to refuse when I don’t want to do something.

Where beauty lies
This is with reference to the story Where beauty lies by Aamna Fatima (YW, September 24, 2011). I totally agree with the writer that no one should feel inferior if he/she can’t afford expensive dresses. We should be thankful to God for what He has given to us.

This is with reference to the story Where beauty lies by Aamna Fatima. In this story, the writer very beautifully portrayed the feelings of non-living things (unbranded costumes). I highly appreciate the creativity of the writer who, by making non-living things a medium, conveyed a very important message to human beings.

Spelling Bee
This is with reference to the article Getting ready for the Bee by Maryam Murtaza Sadriwala (September 24, 2011). This year I and two of my classmates have participated in the Spelling Bee competition and this article helped us a lot to plan for its preparation.

I really liked the cover story No, you won't… by Mariha Khan (October 1, 2011). Website reviews are always informative and interesting and the Techno tricks article Learning to code was very useful, especially for those who are interested in programming.

October 8th issue
I love reading YW and the issue of October 8, was simply great. The cover page was cool and the cover story Postal communication: a lost heritage by Zed Enn, was very informative as well as interesting. However, it’s a cause of concern that no one in this fast era of technology uses letters to communicate.
The stories in the October 8 issue were also good. Though the story, The daughter’s tale by Syeda Eman Fatima was very unnatural and the idea was also weak but still had a very good moral. Tracing the origin of words by Mariyum Murtuza was also a good piece.

Stone Age rocks
This is regarding the article Stone Age rocks! by Arsh Azim (YW, July 23, 2011). The writer has discussed a real life issue in a very interesting manner. The unfavourable conditions in the world, especially in Pakistan, may mean that we may have to live the way our ancestors did.
It was a humorous article but highlighted many important issues. We need to take constructive actions otherwise we will eventually face terrible outcomes. Human beings like to lead an easy life that is why they have become slaves to modern inventions. But we must accept that these comforts will gradually come to an end.
It was really a nice article and I hope to see more such hilarious, yet thought-provoking, articles in the Young World.

Inflation
Eidul Azha is round the corner and, like Eidul Fitr, this time too, people are not so keen for shopping — the reason is inflation! Many people now opt to wear old clothes on Eid, unlike in the past when everyone wore new things on Eid. Inflation has compelled the common man to sacrifice even his basic needs in order to survive.
