Women police to help fight crime

Published November 17, 2001

MULTAN, Nov 16: Induction of women in the police department is a successful move to check the inflation in incidents of crime.

This was stated by district police officer Ahmad Raza Tahir while speaking at a training workshop for women police officers and constables in Multan and Sahiwal districts, here on Friday.

He said a woman inspector had been posted SHO at the Bahar Gate station while women police wings had been established at the Haram Gate and the Cantonment Police stations.

On workshop objectives, DSP Farkhanda Iqbal said it aimed at informing women police officers about the agreement between Pakistan and the United Nations regarding children rights convention and discriminate attitude towards women.

She urged the officials to facilitate the poor women in run for justice.—Nouman
