HYDERABAD: While congratulating Zaka Ashraf on his appointment as chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), former PCB governing body members — Abdul Majeed Khan and Yar Mohammad Solangi — expressed hope on Wednesday that the new chairman would build image of the country by reforming the game.

In a joint statement they urged him to check working of the Regional Cricket Association (RGA) and District Cricket Association (DCA).  They said that the new chairman should make sure only genuine cricketers are encouraged.

They hoped that Mr Zaka would seek to resolve issues between cricket bodies — RGA and DCA Hyderabad — and players, arguing that both bodies and players are not on the same page as for problems of the latter are concerned.

Stating that being well aware of the problems of the city since he belongs to Hyderabad, the former members of the PCB governing body expressed hope that Mr Zaka would give special attention to the city in terms of improving its grounds and academy.—Staff Correspondent
