KARACHI, Oct 22: Newcomer Hania Naveed shocked experienced Sara Ahmed by winning the first semi-final of the fifth Subh-e-Nau Ranking tennis championship at the CDGK Sports Complex on Saturday.

Top seed Sara looked completely off-colour against young Hania, who is just 13, but won this match in straight sets. She will compete against Maheen Dada in the final.

Among men’s, Omer Shahid reached the final by beating Farhan Mustafa in straight sets while in the other semi-final, Adil Kohari outplayed Vinod Das.

Girls` U-18 (semi-finals): Hania Naveed bt Urooj Iltifat 6-3, 6-2; Maheen Dada bt Laiba Khan 6-1, 6-0.
