KARACHI, Oct 19: Yahya Gabol, Sara Ahmed and others advanced to second round of the 5th Subh-e-Nau Ranking Tennis Championship at the CDGK Sports Complex tennis courts here on Wednesday.

Salman Muneer, Yahya Gabol, Iltifat Ahmed and Faiq Azam overcame first hurdles in the tournament after beating their respective opponents.

Among the ladies, Sara Ahmed defeated Wania Khan to advance while Hania Naveed and Urooj Iltifat also joined her in the second round after winning their respective matches.

Adil Kohari advanced in the boys’ U-18 category after beating Aqel Shabbir in straight sets. Hania Naveed won her match against Sania in the girls’ U-18 category.

Yahya Gabol bt Talha Abrar 3-6, 6-1, 10-8 (super tie break)

Hania Naveed bt Sania Mushtaq 6-0, 6-1

Urooj Iltifat bt Laiba Khan 6-3, 6-2

Boys U-18: 1st round: Adil Kohari bt Aqel Shabbir 6-3, 6-2

Girls U-18: 1st round: Hania Naveed bt Sania Mushtaq 6-0, 6-0.
