Shopkeepers booked

LAHORE, Oct 16: A special monitoring team got registered on Sunday cases against three shopkeepers and imposed fine on 17 others for overcharging and selling substandard commodities in various Sunday bazaars.

The team led by District Officer (Monitoring) Amin Akbar Chopra while visiting Sunday bazaars in Johar town, Model Town, Shadman and Moon Market got registered cases against shopkeepers Muhammad Shafique, Jafar Hussain and Naseer Ahmad and imposed fine of Rs8,800 on 17 others. It also cancelled stall licenses of three vendors.

The team also directed the market committee officials to have a close liaison with the markets directly so as to bring down prices and fruits/vegetables and commodities.
