RAWALPINDI, Nov 12: The civil judge, Hidayatullah Shah, on Tuesday directed the police to shift a newly-wed woman to Darul Aman after her husband left her alone.

Zubaida Bibi, 20, told the court that 17 days earlier, she had a love marriage with Tassawar Abbas, who brought her to Rawalpindi from Multan on the promise that both would live with his aunt.

She maintained that a few days before, her husband told her that he had secured a job and would be back soon but did not return. Meanwhile, the woman said, his aunt expelled her from the house.

Later on, somebody referred her to a social worker, who presented her in the court of the district and sessions judge, Dost Muhammad Khimta, along with a application wherein she sought the court’s help.

INQUIRY ORDERED: The judge of anti terrorist court, Manzoor Ahmad Mirza, on Tuesday directed the deputy inspector general (DIG) to initiate inquiry against the Khurd police officials, who were not presenting the property of a murder case in the court.

According to the court, the Attock Khurd police officials, who were investigating a murder case, State vs Tajammul etc, were not presenting before the court, the property of the case. According to the court, the police were using delaying tactics.

Meanwhile, the additional district and sessions judge, Muhammad Sarwar Sidhu, issued the arrest warrant and withheld the salary of a sub-inspector (SI) of Waris Khan police station for not appearing before the court in a drug-trafficking case.

The district and sessions judge, Dost Muhammad Khimta, awarded a nine-month rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs1,000 to an alleged drug-trafficker. The convict, Pervez Akhtar, had been arrested by R.A Bazar police for allegedly possessing 125g of charas.

The same court also rejected the bail application of an accused, who had allegedly killed his sister.

While, rejecting the bail plea of the accused, the judge had maintained that the accused was an alleged killer as honour killing was equal to murder and hence his crime was non-bailable.

Meanwhile, the court also granted bail to owner of a private hospital, Gen C M Rafi (retired), who was accused of severely injuring a person in a car accident.
