OKARA, Nov 12: A BEd student was run over while her brother and his friend sustained serious injuries on the GT Road near Sutlej High School on Tuesday.
Fozia Akram, resident of Azimabad Colony, her brother Sajjad and his friend Riaz, were waiting for a conveyance on a bus stop when a truck ran over them. Fozia died on the spot, while Sajjad and Riaz sustained serious injuries. They were taken to the DHQ Hospital where they were stated to be in critical condition.
Fozia was taking BEd examinations at the Sutlej High School centre. Police have arrested truck driver Mushtaq.
SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead over a land dispute in Chak 39/3-R.
Farzand Ali had a land dispute with Qais Muhammad. One Khalid Wahla supported Farzand on which Qais became furious. He along with his son Ishtiaq opened fire on them. A bullet hit Khalid. He was taken to the DHQ Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have arrested Qais and Ishtiaq.
