MIRPURKHAS, Nov 12: An operation against power thieves was launched on Tuesday.

The SDO, city sub-division (Hesco), Mirpurkhas, Syed Murtaza Shah, found at least 20 residential connections tampered with during raids and issued the owners detection bills worth thousands of rupees.

The SDO conducted raids at Jamna Das Colony, Torabad, Dholanabad, Adam town, Sarafa Bazaar, Umerkot Road, and Lal Mohalla.

CASE REGISTERED: The Satellite Town police have registered a case on Tuesday under the Zina Hudood Ordinance against its head Mohrar, Asghar Ali Leghari, and two other people on the complaint of Mir A. Bachayo.

Mohammad Ashraf Khaskheli had complained to the DPO, Mirpurkhas, that the head Mohrar of the Satellite Town police station, Asghar Ali Leghari, and two other men came to his house late Monday night, tortured him, and kept him in illegal confinement.

He said that the intruders also gang-raped his wife.

The head Mohrar, Asghar Ali Leghari, has been arrested.
