France takes its case to Washington

PARIS, Nov 12: French Justice Minister Dominique Perben arrives in the United States on Wednesday at the invitation of US Attorney General John Ashcroft, where he is expected to push France’s stepped-up battle against global terrorism.

Mr Perben will be in Washington during three days [November 13-15], and this largely to discuss greater Franco-American bilateral cooperation especially in the realm of terrorism and such related issues as international money- laundering and the presence at Guantanamo Bay of seven French nationals accused of being members of Al Qaeda.
