TAXILA, Oct 6: In a burst of passion, a man fired at his wife and a policeman on seeing them together in Hasanabdal area on Thursday, killing the policeman on the spot.

Police said the seriously wounded wife was struggling for life in a Rawalpindi hospital.

Shahab Shah, the attacker, fled from the scene after committing the crime of passion. According to the police, constable Zahoor Ahmed, was serving as driver of a lady judge.

Mrs Shah, who suffered multiple bullet injuries was first taken to THQ hospital Hassanabdal but had to be shifted to DHQ hospital Rawalpindi because of her critical condition.

DPO Dr Akhter Abbass reached the crime scene after hearing the news and gathered information about the incident.

Hassanabdal police have registered a case and started investigation.
