QUETTA, Oct 5: Four people, among them two policemen, were killed and three others injured in separate gun attacks here on Wednesday, police said.

“Unidentified gunmen on motorbikes opened fire at two police personnel on Joint Road, killing them on the spot,” police sources said.In a similar incident on Brewery Road, they said, two people were shot dead and another was injured.

The deceased were identified as Sub-Inspector Malik Muhammad Nawaz, Constable Shahjahan, Javed Habib and Imran Samee. The injured man was identified as Nasim Javed.

Law-enforcement agencies cordoned off the areas after the incidents and launched a hunt for the assailants.

A prayer leader and a passer-by were injured in an attack on Najmuddin Road.

“Unidentified gunmen riding a motorbike opened fire at two persons, leaving them injured,” police sources said.
