KARACHI, Oct 3: The All Pakistan Newspapers Society has severely criticised the government of Sindh for using advertisements as a lever for victimising the Kawish Group because of its independent editorial policy.

At a meeting held in Karachi, the Executive Committee of the society noted with concern that the provincial government had stopped its advertisements to Daily Kawish in order to browbeat the publication and force it to obey its dictates.

The committee reiterated that its member publications would continue their struggle for the people's right to know and perform their duties as a watchdog of the interests of the general public. It urged the chief minister of Sindh to immediately lift the ban on advertisements for Daily Kawish.
