LAKKI MARWAT, Sept 30: Police claimed to have recovered a kidnapped student near Dadiwala here on Friday.

Official sources said that a grade eight student, Syed Rehman, was kidnapped from Landi Jalandhar area of Bannu district by three persons.

After being informed about the kidnapping, DPO Gulzar Ali Khan put the police on high alert with instructions to start search of suspected vehicles at checkposts.

The kidnappers who were trying to shift the student to an unknown place in their car noticed police contingent searching vehicles near Kurram bridge on Indus Highway. The kidnappers set free the student and escaped, police said.

Later, police handed over the boy to his father and launched a search operation to apprehend the kidnappers.

Meanwhile, a man was killed over a land dispute in Khoidadkhel locality of Lakki city on Friday.

According to FIR, the accused Humayun, Ameer Nawaz and Jehangir shot and killed Motabar and escaped. Police registered a case and started investigation.

After the incident, police conducted search in Khoidadkhel locality and arrested three suspects identified as Motabar, Fatehullah and Shafiur Rehman. Police seized a Kalakov, a repeater gun, a double barrel shotgun, a pistol and live rounds from their possession.
