LAHORE, Sept 29: Police on Wednesday claimed to have retrieved property worth millions of rupees from land-grabbers.
SSP (Operations) Shaukat Abbas told reporters on Thursday that at least 13 people lodged complaints that their properties had been occupied by land mafia.
He said the police got their registries and transfer letters verified and retrieved the properties from the accused.
The SSP said the Punjab government constituted a committee comprising police officers and under the supervision of the Lahore DCO to launch a crackdown on land-grabbers.
He said the police had so far received 350 more applications upon which inquiries had been initiated.
He said the police would not touch those cases of illegal occupation which were in litigation. — Staff Reporter
