KARACHI, Sept 28: Omer Shahid and Vinod Das among others advanced to the next round of the 4th Subh-e-Nau Ranking Tennis Championship here at the CDGK Sports Complex Tennis on Wednesday.

Omer defeated Salman in straight sets while Yahya Gabol was shocked by Faiq Azam 6-4, 6-3.

Others who reached the next round of men’s singles category included Vinod Das and Hassan.

In boys’ U-17, Maheen Dada, who was especially allowed to play in boys’ event, defeated Taha to make it to the next round. Urooj Iltifat also reached the next round of ladies singles after overcoming Wania Khan.

Results. Ladies singles: Urooj Iltifat bt Wania Khan 7-5, 6-1

Boys’ U-17: Maheen Dada bt Taha 6-0, 6-0; Usman bt Shabbir 6-0, 6-1

Men’s singles: Vinod Das bt Talha Ibrar 6-0, 6-1; Hassan bt Nareesh 6-2, 6-2; Omer Shahid bt Salman 6-0, 6-0; Faiq Azam bt Yahya Gabol 6-4, 6-3
