SUKKUR, Sept 21: Many towns in Sindh observed a shutter-down strike and took out protest rallies on Wednesday over the death of pilgrims in Balochistan on Tuesday.
Complete shutter-down strike was observed in Ghotki, Mirpur Mathelo and Ubauro. All bazaars and shopping centres remained closed. Business activities also came to a halt throughout the day.
Mirpur Mathelo wore a deserted look but processions were taken out there along with other places such as Ubauro, Kandhkot and Jacobabad.

Leaders of Millat-e-Jaffaria Bandah Ali Jaffari and Syed Gulzar Shah alleged the Balochistan government of not providing security to bus carrying pilgrims.

A rally was brought out in Sukkur from Mohammad Bin Qasim Park to the press club where participants staged a demonstration and sit in for half an hour.
They also raised slogans. Rallies were brought out in Khairpur, Ranipur and Nawabshah also.
