PESHAWAR, Nov 10: The Pakhtoon Students Federation (PSF) has demanded of the government that an amendment be made in the Model University Ordinance and assure its implementation from January.

In a meeting of the PSF, presided over by its President Sardar Ahmad Khan, the Model University Ordinance would prove a milestone in the development of education, said a press release issued here on Sunday.

He said that with the implementation of the ordinance checks be established in the institutions.

Sardar Ahmad told the meeting that it was General Ziaul Haq, who turned the educational institutions into Jehadi outfits.

“The so-called teachers worked more towards preparing the students for Jehad rather than giving them quality education,” he maintained.

Favouring an appointment of teachers on contract basis, the PSF president said that the teachers would also benefit from it.
