Arms smuggler arrested

PESHAWAR, Sept 17: The city police on Saturday foiled a bid to smuggle arms and ammunition and seized over 15,500 cartridges in the limits of Badbher police station near Tela Band village.

Acting on a tip-off, police formed a raiding team led by SSP Operation Ijaz Ahmed and established various checkposts on exit and entry points on link roads. During checking of vehicles near Tela Band village, police intercepted a suspected car bearing registration number LRY-3281 and recovered 15,500 cartridges of different bore and 11 pistols.—APP
