LAHORE: Hosts Kuwait defeated Pakistan 2-0 late on Wednesday night in the Asian Football Confederation Under-16 championship (AFC U-16) qualifiers group ‘B’ game at the Ali Sabah Al-Salem Stadium in Kuwait City.

Kuwait took an early lead through striker Bandar Bourslee which remained intact until the first half.

After the resumption, Kuwait struck the second goal through midfielder Abdul-Aziz Haider in 51st minute to complete the tally.

In the group ‘B’ game, the UAE were held to a 1-1 draw by Afghanistan.

Kuwait now tops the group with four points while Pakistan rank second with three points from two matches. Pakistan will now face another challenge from the UAE on Saturday.
