KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah Wednesday directed the Provincial Finance Department to release Rs300 million for immediate repairs of damaged roads in order to help in transportation of relief goods to rain-affected areas in the province.

This he said in a meeting held to review relief and rehabilitation measures in rain and flood-hit districts in Sindh, said a statement.

He said that during last year the provincial government curtailed 30 per cent budget due to floods, as such this year also the provincial government has to reserve some amount for development.

The Sindh CM directed DCOs of all affected districts to pay full attention towards rescue and relief measures for the rain victims.

He said that all officers and agencies should work hard for the welfare of poor masses who are suffering a lot.

He said that water stagnant at various places will subside soon and and that the rehabilitation process will take at least six months.
