RAWALPINDI, Sept 10: The girls again outshone the boys in the annual results of the HSSC the Rawalpindi Board Intermediate and Secondary Education announced on Saturday as their success ratio remained 52.08 per cent in comparison with the boys whose pass percentage stood at 43.12.
Among the total 30,225 regular students appeared in the examination the pass percentage was 61.91 whereas of 29,387 private candidates only 34.44 per cent could get through the examination.
In the pre-engineering group, Sohaib Hassan with 1006 marks stood first among boys and Aakifa Ishtiaq from Punjab College of Information Technology for Girls Satellite Town Rawalpindi with 987 marks got first position among girls.
Rabia Afroz from Chakwal with 1018 marks bagged first position among girls in pre-medical group and among boys in the group Hassan Ahmed of Cadet College Hassanabdal Attock with 992 got first position.
In the science general group Ayesha Binte Arshad of Punjab College of Information, Rawalpindi with 969 got first position and among the boys Mohammad Tayyab Zulfiqar of Military College Jehlum Sarai Alamgir with 904 marks clinched first position.
Aleena Khan of Punjab College of Information Rawalpindi with 950 marks got first position among girls in the commerce group and among boys Mohammad Bilal Adil of same college with 940 marks.
In the humanities group among girls Muniba Quratul Ain a private candidate with 920 marks stood first and among boys Mudassir Rehan of Community Model Higher Secondary School Pindori Jabbar Gujar Khan with 886 marks got first position.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest MNA Hanif Abbasi said the government Punjab had planned to build a college for technical education in Rawalpindi and in this regard at the cost of Rs400 million.
The chief guest said all out efforts would be made to speed up the construction work on the new office building for BISE near Morgah after Dr Qasim Ali the recently appointed chairman of examination body drew the attention of the MNA towards the delay in completion of the new building.
