KARACHI: Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and India’s Rohan Bopanna reached the semi-finals of the US Open after beating Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins of Great Britain 7-5, 2-5, 7-5.

The fifth-seeded pair endured a frustrating match which was delayed due to rain. Qureshi-Bopanna took the first set in 45 minutes but the British duo dictated the second set and made sure it was a hard-fought victory for the Indo-Pak Express.

Qureshi-Bopanna will now face the Polish pair of Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski for a place in the final.

The Indo-Pak duo finished as runners-up in the men’s doubles event at last year’s US Open.
