ISLAMABAD: Chairman Intellectual Property Organization (IPO-Pakistan) Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi said on Sunday that IPO-Pakistan would be made trade and commerce friendly organization by strict enforcement of trade mark, patent and copyright infringement laws.

He expressed these views while talking to Chief Executive, Pak World Trade and Expo Centre, M. Khurshid Barlas who called on him here and discussed matters relating to promotion of business activities within the country and abroad.

Afridi said that trade and commerce relating activities are vital for overall industrial development of the country.

Keeping in view the successful stories of developed countries it is imperative for Pakistan to boost economic activities by promulgation of effective laws and their strict implementation, he added.

Afridi said that IPO-Pakistan would fulfill its responsibilities by giving legal protection to all registered businesses under IPO laws.

He asked the business community to join hands with IPO-Pakistan to flourish legal business practices in Pakistan which would also expand employment opportunities.

He said a number of steps had been adopted to provide maximum facilities to all those who wants to register their creations.

Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi said that with the assistance of World Intellectual Property Organization WIPO and UNIDO, training courses of IPO technical experts have been started for their capacity building similarly,the representatives of Trade and Commerce would also be made an integral part of these trainings.

He appreciated the efforts of Pak World Trade and Expo Center for organizing successful 'Made in Pakistan' exhibitions in different countries.
