KARACHI, Sept 4: The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF)-sponsored 10-day coaching clinic for under-18 players, including two girls, commenced at the Modern Club here the other day.

A total of 12 players — 10 selected on the basis of their provincial rankings and two substitutes — were going through the two-hour drills under the supervision of country’s top players Aqeel Khan, Jalil Khan and Yasir Khan.

The PTF president, Syed Kaleem Imam, who was in the city on a private visit, inaugurated the camp.

Veteran Davis Cup player and former Pakistan captain, Nadir Ali Khan, also visited the camp and delivered tips to the participants.

Players belonging to rural Sindh could not report in the camp due to rains.

The participants are Omer Shahid, Abdul Rehman, Syed Zuhair Raza, Farhan Mustafa, Hassan Siddiqui, Marib Malik, Talha Zubair, Hassan Farooq, Maheen Dada, Neha Khan, Sikander Hayat Khan and Shazil Malik. The last two have come in place of Adil Kohari and Nameer Shamsi.
