ISLAMABAD, Sept 2: Two persons were gunned down in separate incidents in different areas of the federal capital during Eidul Fitr, the police said on Friday.

In the first incident, Roshan Nawaz, resident of a village in Golra was gunned down by his relatives over a marriage issue on Thursday.

Some seven months ago, Roshan Nawaz abducted his first cousin from Karak. He brought her to Islamabad where he had been living along with his father for the last five years. Later, he married her forcibly.

He abducted his cousin to take revenge from her family as nine years ago her brother abducted Roshan Nawaz's elder sister and forcibly married her.

The relatives of both the families had settled the issue but, on August 30, the brother of the girl along with his friend came to the house of the victim from Karak to meet his sister.

They remained with the family for two days. On September 1, they planned to visit a park with Roshan Nawaz. However, they took him to a jungle on motorcycle where the brother fired a shot at his head from a close distance. Resultantly, Roshan Nawaz died on the spot while the alleged killers escaped from the scene. Some passersby spotted the body and informed the police which shifted it to the hospital for legal process.

In another incident, a shopkeeper was gunned down over a money dispute with his customer on Wednesday (August 31).

The police said Nasir Mehmood, a property dealer came at the shop of Mohammad Anwar Sayed and asked for easy load. But, due to rush at the shop, Mohammad Anwar ignored him. At this, Nair Mehmood became angry and exchanged hot words with the shopkeeper.

After a few hours, Nasir Mehmood again came at the shop along with his two friends and asked for cold drinks. On demand of payment, he started arguments with the shopkeeper.

During the arguments, he pulled out a pistol and shot him injured. The attackers escaped from the scene, while the people of nearby area rushed to the spot and shifted him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The police registered a case and started investigation.

Meanwhile, a girl, Alyah Massih, resident of Khokar Town, committed suicide by shooting herself with the pistol of her father as she could not get through the matric exam.

The police quoted the family of the victim as saying that she had a quarrel with her family over her failure in the exam. The police registered a case and started investigation.
