MULTAN, Nov 15: The employees of the local Municipal Corporation will go on hunger strike if the culprits, who injured the MMC sanitary worker, are not arrested.

This was told to newsmen by MMC workers’ union president Riaz Khan and secretary-general Javed Iqbal here on Thursday.

On Wednesday, councillor Rafiq Tooti and his accomplices allegedly attacked Muhammad Bakhsh with dagger, leaving him injured.

Later, the MMC workers protested against the criminal act in front of the department’s office, urging city Nazim Faisal Mukhtar to get the culprits arrested.

The incident took place in the limits of Delhi Gate Police. Bakhsh’s wife Munawar alleged police were not arresting the culprits for their political influence.

The SHO was not present in the police station when this correspondent tried to contact him. — Nouman
