LAHORE, Aug 22: The National Highways and Motorway Police (N-5 Central) claim to have arrested 12 criminals involved in dacoity, housebreaking, theft, carrying illegal weapons, vehicle snatching besides recovering liquor, arms and ammunition, vehicles, cash, mobile phones, stolen animals and government wood during the last few days.

According to a release issued on Monday, officers of N-5 Central Zone took into custody the suspects for committing various offences. Approximately 450 liter liquor, arms, ammunition, eight cell phones, Rs0.1 million cash, a car (LEA-1375) and stolen animals worth approximately 0.4million were recovered from them.

On the directions of N-5 Central DIG Fateh Sher Joyia, the suspects and recovered items were handed over to local police for further investigation.

Patrolling officers also rescued a girl, Sameera, who was injured in a shooting incident over some domestic issue. The girl was shifted to Rahim Yar Khan City Hospital for medical aid. Similarly, a nine-year-old boy, Shaukat, a resident of Khanewal was also reunited with his family by the motorway police. —Staff Reporter
