ISLAMABAD: The recent wave of protest by the Young Doctors Association started after the federal government failed to issue a notification on the Health Personnel Pay Scale.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday approved a summary on the new career path for the health professionals under which the pay-scale of young doctors joining the government service in grade-9 will be equivalent to BPS-18 with a minimum monthly salary of Rs75,000.

“There is no notification from the federal government and the same has been conveyed to us by the Pims administration,” Dr Owais Nizami told Dawn.
