ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has selected a four-member squad for the forthcoming Men’s World Team Squash Championship, commencing from August 21 in Paderborn, Germany.

PSF secretary Irfan Asghar said on Saturday that Aamir Atlas would lead the team in the event, while the other three players are Yasir Butt, Nasir Iqbal, Waqar Mahboob.

“Ban on Aamir ended on July 17 and now he is available to represent Pakistan in all international fixtures,” he said.

It is pertinent to mention that Aamir played the final of the Malaysian Open Squash Championship where he toppled high-ranked players like Cameron Pilley from Australia, but later on in the final, Gregory Gaultier from France defeated him.

Earlier, Aamir criticised national coach in the media in January due to which a disciplinary action was taken against him and he was banned for six months.—APP
