KOHAT, Nov 3: Two employees of a courier service were arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency after 60 Pakistani passports and eight visas were recovered from them in a raid conducted here on Sunday.

The passports were issued in the name of Afghan refugees, officials told Dawn.

The accused were carrying the documents in a bag from Bannu to Rawalpindi via Kohat when they were intercepted on Bannu road by a special team of the FIA, Peshawar, aided by the local police.

On search, the officials recovered 60 passports, eight visas of different countries, three national identity cards and more than a dozen medical certificates.

The raid was ordered by FIA director Malik Naveed Khan after receiving information that employees of a courier service were involved in illegal visa business in connivance with the travel agents.

The accused, who were travelling in a coaster (PRP-6552), were identified as Rehmat Ayaz, resident of Bannu, and Hameedullah, resident of Karak.

A team of FIA passport circle started interrogating the courier servicemen after registering a case against them.
