KARACHI, July 29: Latif ur Rehman XI, Munawar uz Zaman XI, Saeed Anwar XI and Habib A. Kiddi XI reached the semi-finals of the PHF/OISSA U-16 Hockey Tournament after beating their respective opponents at the Olympian Iftikhar Syed Sports Academy here on Thursday evening.

The first quarter-final between Latif ur Rehman XI and J. Khan XI saw the former edging out the latter 1-0. The deciding goal was scored by Shahzaib Zaman.

Next Munawar uz Zaman XI thrashed Tanveer Dar XI 4-0. Two goals for the winners were scored by Kamal while Shahrukh Zaman and Khwaja Mustafa added one each.

Saeed Anwar XI beat Khursheed Aslam XI 2-1. Hamza and Hunain scored for Saeed Anwar XI while Yasin reduced the margin for Khursheed Aslam XI.

Finally, both Habib A. Kiddi XI and Habib ur Rehman XI could not score in the limited time. Later they failed to score in extra time too and the decision had to be made on penalty strokes where Habib A. Kiddi XI won by 3-1.
