LAHORE, July 28: Three people, including a woman, were murdered in different parts of the provincial capital on Thursday.

Nawab Town police said that 30-year-old Shahmim Akhtar was stabbed to death after being tortured by her husband Nadeem and his unidentified accomplices for the sake of 'honour' in Eden Palace Housing Society.

Police said the motive for the attack was appeared to be domestic scuffles between the couple as Nadeem suspected that his wife, mother of a minor daughter, had developed relations with the owner of the house.

Shamim of Raiwind was married to Nadeem about six years ago and the couple had been living in a rented house.

Police have registered a case against Nadeem on the complaint of Abdur Razzaq, the victim's father.

Nishtar Colony police said that Haji Aslam of Rohi Drain was tortured to death allegedly by his relative Nawaz and his sons Shabbir and Bilal over a family dispute at a village near Ferozepur Road.Aslam had gone to the house of his daughter Abida's in-laws to settle the dispute with his son-in-law Shahbaz where an exchange of heated arguments took place.

Shafeeqabad police said that unidentified people shot dead 32-year-old Sohaib and injured Asif at Batti Chowk and fled the scene.

Police said Sohaib of Daska was getting out of a wagon at the time of the incident. Police suspected the married youth was shot dead allegedly by relatives of a girl who eloped with him a few months ago.
